How do you get free web traffic to your new website?
How do you get free traffic to your blog?
How do you get free traffic to your e-commerce site?

You first started a new website, you almost always have trouble getting visitors to your site. How to promote your website? I have compiled a complete list of all free traffic sources from which your site can attract new visitors.

HOW DO YOU GET FREE TRAFFIC?

To get free traffic, you have to put in enough effort (i.e., time) to work.

The advantage of free traffic sources: if you have done this in the first place, your website will benefit for a long time.

Another advantage is that you do not have to spend advertising money.

Always remember:

You did not necessarily have to implement free traffic sources.

Knowing all these possible traffic sources is useful.
More importantly, you must develop habits to select and test new free traffic sources.

Only by testing will you know exactly which traffic sources are more effective for your products.
When you get visitors from a specific traffic source, you need to find out the details and the process, i.e. exactly what you need to do to make a traffic source work properly when you get visitors.

You must set up analysis tools to measure (or monitor) traffic and performance. A good start is to set up Google Analytics on your website.

1 # FRIENDS AND CONNECTIONS

Receive free traffic for your website by communicating and working with people.

Start with your friends, your customers, other bloggers, people in your local community and people in your industry.

Tell friends with emails

Tell friends by sending them an email about your new website. You can retrieve their e-mail addresses from your standard e-mail (for example Gmail). So it's really your friends, people you know (in real life), or people you've had contact with before.

This is effective and should be implemented quickly. This gives your new site an immediate one-time boost of traffic.

Tell friends with Whatsapp

Open WhatsApp. Send the URL of your website to your friends and WhatsApp contacts with a message that you have launched a new website. Briefly explain what they can do on (or can get from) your site.

Ask friends to link from their blogs

Ask a friend who has a blog to add a link (pointing to your site) in the "link exchange" or "friends" section. When I say 'friend', he/she naturally does not want you to pay him to prove you a favour like this. For courtesy, you may need to make a link to his / her blog (from your site or blog).

It depends. Your friend's blog may already have some traffic every day. Some visitors to his / her blog can click on the link and end up on your new website.

This is quick to implement and depends on whether most of your friends have blogs.

Ask friends to blog about your website

Ask a friend with a blog to write an article, post it on his / her blog, and include a link that points to your new site. Again, for the courtesy, you may have to link back to his / her blog.

This method can be more successful for friends who have a deeper relationship with you, or if your friends have blogs in the same niche as your new website.

Ask your customers

If you own your own business and have customers, ask your customers to place a link on their website or mobile app that points to your site.

Some customers do not mind adding a link on their site that gives credit (a backlink) to your website if you do a good job for your customers.

Ask the local bloggers

Connect with bloggers who are in your city. Most bloggers who leave their contact information (i.e. e-mails, contact forms) on their blogs. Let them know about your website and what you do. Ask if they are willing to post a link on their blog or write a guest post about your website.

This depends on the willingness of other bloggers.

Connect with the local community

Get to know the people from your local community. A few examples: the local church, the physical store, etc. If they already have websites, you should help them. Examples:

Give them suggestions about SEO ideas.

Give them advice on how they can generate more web traffic.

Design a logo or some banners for them.

In return, you can ask them to link from their sites to yours.

Will have to invest time and effort in advance with your creativity.

Make new friends from internet marketing events

Attend events (or conferences), including internet marketing events, social marketing events, SEO events or product events organized by local technology companies, etc. You must actively get to know other participants at the events. Don't be too aggressive to promote your website with them (because it's probably the first time you meet them), but exchange contact information with them and let them know about you and your website.

After the event, choose contacts who are in your niche and ask if they are willing to add a link (to your site) on their websites.

Will take time to meet people, especially meet the right people, and then filter the suitable people.

Link Roundup

Make a link roundup with the following conditions:

Choose blogs that are in your niche or industry.
Choose blogs that you think have enough web traffic.
Link roundup is when you see that someone's blog has a section for "more related articles" that link to other blogs or sites. You must first identify the blogs that are likely to provide a link round-up and then send emails to the authors.

The amount of traffic that your site receives depends on how much traffic this blog has, how relevant the content of his / her blog is for the content of your site, where exactly your link is placed in the blog article and a few other factors.

This can be implemented quickly if you can find the right blogs with highly responsive and supportive authors.

3 # SEO TRAFFIC

SEO traffic: your website must receive free organic search traffic if you have optimized your site for SEO. In most countries, Google receives more than 90% of searches (among all search engines).

The good thing about search engine optimization (SEO) is that you complete all SEO techniques on your new website, and the SEO applies to all search engines.

Google

Google (https://www.google.com) can offer you the most organic search traffic, and your priority should be to optimize your new website for Google SEO.

Apply search engine optimization for your website to maximize the organic search traffic (SEO) of Google, the world's largest search engine. Google SEO includes:

  • Apply on-page SEO.
  • Do link building (or off-page SEO).
  • Follow the practical SEO tips from webmasters.

Use feedback in Google Search (formerly
Google.com) to help you grow organic search traffic (e.g. Search Analytics), track down your website's technical issues (e.g. Blogging, index status, mobile usability) and search results appearance of your site (ie structured data, HTML enhancements, accelerated mobile pages).

Consult my guide with practical tips for mobile SEO to optimize your website for higher organic Google search results (especially for mobile search results).

Bing

Bing (https://www.bing.com/) is the second most used search engine in the United States. Maybe the 2nd is still Yahoo, but technically Bing is much more of a good search engine than Yahoo. Receive organic search traffic from Bing. If your site does well on organic search with Google, it should also do well with Bing.

An advantage is: Yahoo uses the organic search results from Bing. This means that if your webpage for a keyword is in the top 10 of Bing, it will also be on Yahoo's organic search results pages (SERP).

Yahoo

Yahoo (https://www.yahoo.com) was once the number one internet portal site in the past and used a lot of organic search traffic for many websites.

Yahoo uses organic search results from Bing. If your web pages are already high in Bing's SERP, they will also appear on the Yahoo search results pages.

DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo (https://duckduckgo.com/) - After you have done SEO for your website and sent your site to DuckDuckGo, you can receive free organic traffic (for the audience of your niche).

Pinterest

Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/) is a bookmark and share site for photos and a search engine for image files.

With Pinterest, you can post (or lock) your product photos or your infographic images.
On Pinterest, an image/photo is known as a pin.
You can include a web URL (to your website) in your message.

A good practice when working on Pinterest boards and pins.

Pin on your own plate. Make sure you have around 100-200 pins on each board, and the pin of each board must be very specific to a topic (or theme).
Find and repair group signs (made by other Pinterest users). This way you get much more exposure to your pins.

4 # SOCIAL NETWORKS

Social networks: Connecting and socializing with people through social networks can take a lot of time, especially there are many social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. The benefits can be huge in the long run, if you can get enough put effort and time into it.

Facebook

Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/) is the world's largest social network. On Facebook, users post all types of topics that relate to content from all sectors and niches.

You can explore your new website in various ways on Facebook.

Place your website URL on Facebook with a short description or website. The message appears in your Facebook timeline, your friends (or connections) see your message in their feeds.

Join a Facebook group whose topic is in your niche. Both closed groups and public groups will work. Find more groups in your niche and join them. First place something useful and related to the topic of the group. Then slowly place the URL of your website with a description of what your site is about and how the content of your website can help everyone.
Create a fan page for your brand (or your website). Share content on your Fanpage and let people like or follow the Fanpage. The idea is the same - If you continue to post things that are useful to other people (i.e. have values for other people), the likes and followers of your Fanpage should grow over time.
With Facebook, posting content is very important and must be a consistent operation. For example, you have to post once every few days (in your timeline). On other days you have to post in groups or your Fanpage.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/) is a professional social network where you can show people your expertise.

Write an article and publish it on your website (or blog). You must write something that is strongly related to your expertise or show exactly what your website offers.

Write a summary of the article.

Post the summary on Linkedin. Include a link in the summary article that refers to the original article of your website.

twitter

Twitter (https://twitter.com/) is a social media platform with which you can place short sentences and in your "Tweet" you can include the URL of your website.

When posting on Twitter, use a URL shortening program such as Bit.ly for your URL.

Bit.ly shortens the length of your URL.
It offers click data or your URL.

Reddit

Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/) is a current social sharing site. On Reddit, you will find all types of topics submitted by users (i.e., Redditors). Editors can rate content higher or lower. If you post content that other editors like and vote for, you get Karma. Karma is to a large extent the "authority" of a user in Reddit.

All Reddit content is organized under Sub-reddits. You must find the most suitable Subreddit to post your content (i.e., link). If you place in the wrong subreddit, you run the risk that your content will be deleted.

Do not advertise for yourself or your products on Reddit by always placing links to your website. This will upset other editors and you will get downvotes that have negative effects on your Karma.

Start by placing links that are useful to other users. Only after you have obtained sufficient Karma (i.e. Authority), should you try to place links to your website?

WhatsApp

Whatsapp (https://www.whatsapp.com/) is technically an instant messaging app on mobile devices.

In Whatsapp, you can create groups and attract friends (i.e. contacts) into your new groups. You can post/share the web address of your site in the groups.

11 # LISTING OR EMAIL MARKETING

When a user visits your site for the first time, he/she often cannot buy anything from you. The best practice is to make a reason for the user to subscribe to your mailing list. This way you can collect his / her e-mail address and start creating lists for your website.

This is often called e-mail marketing or lead generation or list structure.

Lead Generation

Lead generation is about creating a mailing list in which some of the people on the mailing list will eventually buy your products or use your services.

Use a traffic source (or a few traffic sources) to get visitors that closely match the products or services that you are going to sell to them.

A well-designed landing page (or squeeze page) is required for your visitors. The main purpose of this squeeze page is to have visitors subscribe to your newsletter, free manuals, white papers or whatever digital information they want. In this way, visitors have a reason to give you their e-mail addresses.
Aweber or MailChimp will certainly be efficient tools for storing, managing and expanding your mailing list.

I hope the above information will help you to increase the traffic of your website.
